Rio Secreto

Dare to live a fantastic experience in one of the most incredible locations in the Riviera Maya. If you've imagined what the Earth's center may be like, today you will be able know it.

We invite you to enjoy a fantastic life experience that begins the moment you arrive at the Natural Reserve. There you will be greeted by our highly trained guides and equipped like a professional dive master. You will put on a wetsuit, helmet with a special lamp and wet shoes.

At Río Secreto, you will experience the silence of a world below, crossing for an hour and a half through the crystalline water museum. Filled with a kaleidoscope of speleothems, walk an easy 600 meter route amidst the thousands of stalactites and stalagmites found in this protected natural reserve.

After the tour, you will be provided with an excellent lunch of light foods and have a chance to relax at this great natural habitat. Río Secreto – don't miss this fantastic life experience.

AGENDA
1. Arrival at highway parking lot, located just five minutes from Playa del Carmén. Transport to the site is provided in our unique all-terrain Mercedes Benz Unimog's

2. Arrival at Rio Secreto. Our guides will meet visitors, brief visitors regarding site attractions, usage and safety, and provide visitors with all appropriate clothing and equipment

3. Visitors will then be guided on a one and a half hour (or 600 meter) tour of Rio Secreto, walking and swimming along the route

4. A light but substantial lunch will be enjoyed after this unique and exciting experience

Additional Information

In order to offer you more personalized service, this tour is organized for small groups up to six participants with a knowledgeable guide. Although this tour is recommended for the entire family including adults and children, the minimum age allowed is six years old. Guests must be able to walk without assistance and weigh less than 120 Kg/250 lbs. Before taking this tour of underground routes, we ask that you store the following items inside the lockers: hats, glasses, sandals that are not secured at the ankle, watches, jewelry that could get tangled or fall off, cameras or video cameras, band-aids, backpacks and handbags.

Recommendations

We recommend that you reserve space ahead of time, either through our call center or by making reservations online. We suggest that you wear clothes that are comfortable for walking in the jungle; you should wear a short sleeve t-shirt with your swimming suit underneath, and bring along extra clothes to change into later. We recommend that you bring extra cash and/or a credit card for purchasing souvenirs, photos, CDs or other items inside the nature reserve. It is important that you arrive at least 20 minutes before your program begins. If you have any physical or mental limitations, we suggest you get in touch with us before purchasing your tour.

Restrictions and Cancellation Policies

Cancellations must be made at least seven days in advance, and there will be a 10% surcharge for the cancellation. If a cancellation is made 5 days or less prior to the tour or on the same day, a refund will not be given.
