Rent a Driver. When you decide you want to go out to dinner, go dancing or go on a rum and sun cruise your best solution is to NOT DRIVE.

Taxis

There are a number of ways to get around the Riviera Maya. Taxis are all over the place and readily available. When using a taxi in the Riviera Maya there are a couple of things you should know.

• The local fares are regulated and most drivers have a copy of the rate sheet in their car, we suggest negotiating the price before you enter the taxi.
• Most taxi drivers do not speak English, the can understand you for the most part, but it is best to have your destination written down on a piece of paper
• Always carry small bills or correct change.
